The Sox update you have been waiting for

We've had 11 games since the last blog entry (way to stay on top of this Justin) and a lot has happened with the streaky Black Sox. First, we lost 3 straight (scoring a whopping 5 runs icnluding 2 shutouts) to the league darlings, West Roxbury, and the pesky McKay club). The Sox then turned it around with a few wins against the juggernaut Chelsea teams and a third straight win against McKay. The bats went cold again last weekend as the Sox dropped all 3 games (5-1 to E. Boston, 4-1 Brookline, and the standard 2-0 shutout at Medford). Brookline went on to celebrate their win for the next 2 hours with champagne, like they won the world series. Methinks these guys have never won more than 12 games in a season.

Billy Gills has returned to form (about time; you were expecting run support?) for the Black Sox, picking up 2 wins in the past week. The first came against McKay and the most recent a shutout of Savin Hill at the picturesque McConnell Park. The game at Savin Hill saw the return of Matt Borto to the lineup. Borto showed up the inept Sox lineup by going 3 for 3. What a jerk. The win at Savin Hill improved the Sox record to 14-14 with 6 games left in the playoff push. Time to do work. Literally.
